The Dining Services Advisory Council is a concept utilizing students in the planning of the future direction of Residence Hall Dining Services. The purpose of the council is to serve as Residential Dining Services' liaison with the student body. We welcome all residence hall students. Council members will be compensated for half of their A, B, or C meal plan rate (excluding convenience dollars), each semester, based on successful completion of the responsibilities of their 13 week contract.

We are no longer accepting applications for the Fall 2009 semester.

Key responsibilities:

  • Regularly attend DSAC meetings and other required activities; meeting times are Wednesday evenings at 4:15pm
  • Facilitate between RHDS staff and students
  • Participate in decision making concerning: renovations, new product selection, food quality and service, and marketing concepts
  • Evaluate & communicate experiences in all Dining Centers throughout the contract period
  • Commit at least 15 hours per week, for 13 weeks (each semester) of direct contact through focus group interviews and meetings with staff
  • Assist with development, set-up, compiling and evaluations of tastings and surveys
  • Provide feedback from fellow hall students

Qualifications:

  • Must be living on campus
  • Must demonstrate suitable communication skills
  • Must be able to commit to a full semester contract

Can I apply in person?

  • Yes, simply complete an application at our Dining Services Office (Room 108 Palmer Center, 1005 West Laurel Street). It takes about twenty minutes to fill out the application. Come prepared to tell us why you'd like to be a member.

How much $$$ do I get back?

  • All selected members can earn a reimbursement for half of their residential meal plan costs

How do I get my $$$?

  • Reimbursement payments are credited back to your student account

Do I have to pay for my meal plan first?

  • Yes, council members must pay their student account bills as usual. Council reimbursements are credited back to students' CSU accounts

When do I get my $$$?

  • The reimbursement is made near the end of the semester pending completion of DSAC responsibilities
