Auditions
Dance major placement and scholarship consideration auditions are held each semester during high school visitation days and during regularly scheduled university technique classes in ballet, modern, or jazz.
To be accepted into the program, students should have at least one to two years of quality dance training preferably in ballet, modern, and jazz techniques.
The Creative and Performing Arts Awards are scholarships ranging from $500-$2,000 per year and are open to dance majors only. Students under scholarship award consideration will be notified by May 15.
Auditions for technique classes, performing ensembles, and productions are held during the beginning of each semester. All dance technique classes are by audition and begin dancing on the second day the class meets. Students must audition for the technique level appropriate to their ability before prerequisites will be waived.
