Opera Theatre
|
Colorado State Opera Theatre performs a variety of operatic repertoire, ranging from fully staged operas with orchestra, musicals, one-act operas, and opera scenes spanning the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern eras. Each semester the company presents a fully staged production. Past presentations include: Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro, Cole Porter’s Kiss Me Kate, Benjamin Brittin’s The Rape of Lucretia, Verdi’s Falstaff, Kurt Weill’s Street Scene, Rossini’s La Cenerentola, and Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music. Each spring CSOT collaborates with Opera Fort Collins and renowned guest artists, performing
grand operas in concert format such as Wagner’s Der fliegende Holländer, Verdi’s Aida, Puccini’s Turandot, and Verdi’s Il Trovatore.
Auditions for CSOT are held at the beginning of each semester and are open to all CSU students. |
