    Gregory Harper has held the position of Bass Trombonist with the Colorado Symphony since 1997. Prior to joining the Colorado Symphony, he was the interim Bass Trombonist with L’Orquesta Sinfonica de Galicia of La Coruna, Spain, and also performed with the Houston Symphony. His festival appearances have included the Bravo! Vail Valley, Spoleto (Italy), Cabrio (Santa Cruz, California), and Parry Sound (Ontario, Canada) festivals.

    As a chamber musician, Mr. Harper has performed with the Summit Brass Ensemble, Denver Brass, Boulder Brass, Houston Brass Quintet, CSU Faculty Quintet, and the CSU Faculty Trio. He has also performed with Tony Bennett, Steve Houghton, Bobby McFerrin, Bob Mintzer, Diane Reeves, Red Rodney, the late Lou Rauls, Marvin Stam, Frank Sinatra Jr., Dave Steinmeyer, and Dr. Billy Taylor.

    Mr. Harper has presented masterclasses at Mississippi State University, Troy State University, and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He has been a featured clinician and guest artist at the 1998 International Trombone Association Workshop in Boulder, Colorado and the 2001 South Shore Low Brass Symposium held in Middleboro, Massachusetts. He is also currently an artist/clinician for the Edwards Trombone Corporation.

    Mr. Harper holds a B.M. degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a M.M. from the Rice University Shepherd School of Music. His primary teachers have included David Finlayson, Matthew Guilford, David Sporny, David Waters, and Doug Yeo.
