Ruth Ann McDonald
Vocal Coach

Ruth Ann McDonald has been official pianist for the Belvedere International Vocal Competition, the Kennedy Center Rockefeller Competition, the National Association of Teachers of Singing national convention, and the Marion Anderson International Vocal Competition. She has coached singers at the American Institute for Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, and three opera premiers at the Kammeroper in Vienna, Austria. Her doctorate is in vocal coaching and accompaniment. Recital appearances include concerts with Sir Peter Pears, George Shirley, Phyllis Bryn-Julsen, Gordon Hawkins, Kammersaengerin Julie Kaufman, her husband, Dr. James McDonald, and numerous performances with the Theatre Chamber Players of Kennedy Center. Prior to moving to Loveland, Colorado, she was on the Collaborative Piano faculty of New England Conservatory of Music. Presently she is coaching singers part-time at Colorado State University, and continues teaching in the German for Singers and Vocal Coaches summer program at Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vermont.
