Faculty Travel Research Grants
$2,000 grants are available for faculty engaging in international research during the 2009-2010 year. Priority is given to applications that (1) focus on international projects with an interdisciplinary, team-based approach focusing on new areas of research and (2) involve collaboration with other CSU faculty, international faculty at partner institutions, and/or international organizations.
International Field Experience Grants
More than 250 CSU students, faculty and staff traveled abroad last year on short-term IFEs coordinated between the Office of International Programs and campus units or departments. Programs included field trips to Kenya, Mexico, Panama, the European Union and other countries. IFEs are not tours, but academically-oriented field experiences that draw upon the faculty’s work or experience abroad. There are five grants available for $3,000 each.
International Conference Grants
Funding is available to organize conferences and workshops at CSU that are research-oriented, faculty-led, and have an international focus. Grants are up to $15,000 for a conference and up to $5,000 for a workshop.
Institutional Partnership Support Grants
The Colorado State University Office of International Programs (OIP) is pleased to offer a grant program to support building relationships with the university’s “key Institutional partners.” Funding has been allocated to supporting these strategic partnerships, and is part of a larger pool of over $150,000 for new international student and faculty initiatives at Colorado State University. The Office of International Programs is seeking proposals from faculty who are building relationships with “key institutional partners” during the 2009-2010 academic year.
Study Abroad Scholarships
OIP has developed a $35,000 scholarship program to support undergraduate study abroad participation. Approximately 60 awards will be granted. Awards range from $200 for a summer, $500-$750 for a semester, and $750-$1,000 for an academic year. Priority will be given to applicants studying in a non-traditional part of the world and to students with underrepresented majors in study abroad.
