Message from CSU's Office of International Programs

International activity at Colorado State University has a long and very distinguished history. In fact, internationalism is at the heart of the University's land grant mission. At Colorado State we believe that as technology shrinks the world it is more important than ever that we understand other peoples and cultures and work to create mutually beneficial relationships with partners around the world.

We have welcomed students from other countries since 1898 and today we enroll approximately 900 students from nearly 100 countries and welcome approximately 300 visiting scholars and researchers from other countries as well. All of them are served by our Office of International Student & Scholar Services. Our staff is assisted and supported by the Fort Collins International Center, a community volunteer organization in Fort Collins that has a history of half a century of welcoming international students into their homes and assisting the Office with a variety of programs to integrate internationals into the Fort Collins community.

Colorado State University's commitment to internationalism goes well beyond international students and scholars to include Study Abroad programs (with nearly 10% of each graduating class participating), International Education programs (including efforts to internationalize the educational experience of all CSU students through support for faculty and curriculum development, area studies, internships abroad, IE designated courses, linkages with partner institutions in other countries and more), and international research, development and training activities (including a wide range of externally funded projects and initiatives). In addition, we reach out to the community that surrounds us in northern Colorado to provide opportunities for residents to learn more about other peoples and cultures through community world affairs programming, and our annual International Fest, a several-week series of events in November, culminating in the Annual World Unity Day where international students put on displays, performances and cook foods from their home countries.

In this site you will find details about all of our Activities and a Calendar of Events that provides up-to-date information about on-going programs. We invite you to join us in broadening your horizons, encountering other peoples and cultures, and learning about the issues that shape our world.
