IMPROVEMENT PLANNING TEAM

Present: Gwynne Hallock, Denise Jones, Tim Lybarger, Christie Mathews, Ron Pantier, Rick Pott, Carolyn Trottman, Jean West, Kathy Young

 

Approve Pervious Minutes:

Minutes were given out to IPT members and approved.

 

Review each areas “distilled” list:

Ron handed out Food Service project list and reviewed each item.  There was discussion about the Atriums for both Edwards and Ingersoll when the new housing on the ropes course is started.  It was agreed that this should be under the new housing project due to the need for additional seating during the construction period.  Food Services will be conducting focus groups to see what students would like to see in a convenience/retail store in a hall setting, this is a project that is on their list.

Carolyn had hand outs for residence life area, she was not sure if this was put in priority order and did not have much information about the projects on the list.

Christie gave apartment life list out; discussion on all projects and on the list from last year.  Apartment Data Network Systems was approved last year with phased funding and #3 was broken down into smaller projects for ’04.

Rick had one item on operation managements list, unisex bathrooms at HSC warehouse, none as of now.

Technology’s one item is the enhancement of the computer training room at the Palmer Center.

 

Questions were raised about some of the projects, should they be included on each areas list or should they be moved to operation management’s list.  Discussion followed, Rick wondered if there should be some other criteria of what and how projects get on each areas list.

 

The committee was able to compile a list of the top 18 projects for the first draft, will meet next week to review and try to finalize project prioritization list.
