Webster-Barnes Student Loan

The Webster-Barnes Student Loan Fund offers financial assistance to deserving students in the field of biological sciences.

About the Webster-Barnes Student Loan Fund

The fund was established by Broda O. Barnes and his wife Charlotte Webster Barnes. The Barnes' spent many years contributing to the field of physiology and had a deep affection and involvement with Colorado State University. It is Dr. Barnes' philosophy that theories are never sacred and must be modified as new facts are collected. He believes that research is essential, but that it must be guided by an open mind in order to prevent waste of precious monies in defending obsolete theories. Thus, education must have first priority, and this must be followed by a burning desire in the search for truth. To assist deserving students of biology, the Barnes' established an irrevocable trust that will support the Webster-Barnes loan fund at Colorado State University.
