Leafminer Damage in HEBO
Leafminer Damage in Utah Sweetvetch
A leafminer was found in a Utah Sweet Vetch seed increase field at Roger's Mesa near Hotchkiss, CO in 2008. Damage showed up early in the season between inital growth and first flower bud. By the time the plants were in bloom leaf mines had been evacuated.

We do not know the idenity of this insect. If you see it please contact Bob Hammon.
Exit Hole from Leafminer Mines can occur anywhere on a fully expanded leaf. Several mines can be found on a single leaf. While a few mines will probably not significantly affect seed production, a large infestation might reduce seed production.
